Silverbird Galleria in Lagos

Any one been to the Siverbird Galleria?big_smile Nice place to watch a movie, very large screen, high quality pictures and sound system with the smell of pop corn all around you.

I went there to watch "National Treasure" and I enjoyed it very much; as against watching a pirated CD at home.

You guys should give it a trial, (not that I am advertising for them  tongue ), It is a really cool place to relax cool

What is it about this National Treasure movie?  I'm not impressed by it's trailer on STV at all.  What' the storyline?

Re: Silverbird Galleria in Lagos

If I had to explain it, probably would take all night. US founding fathers hid a treasure. This family has been trying to find it for about 3 generations. everybody else thinks its a hoax, that the treasure does not exist.

But it does. They break into National Museum to steal the original document the founding fathers signed bla, bla. Go watch the film! big_smile

But it is a great film. I didn't watch it at SilverBird though smile

Sola are you saying ELEKTRA is not such a 'must watch'?  I have plans to go see the movie later this week.

Re: Silverbird Galleria in Lagos

I've never been to SilverBird but I've heard loads about the place. The Cinema is such a lovely place to unwind and have a good laugh, well, depending on what movie you choose to see. I'm ever so looking forward to going there next time I'm around, hopefully after my exams in June. I'm somewhat choosy what I see at the cinema though. I first saw movies like Titanic, Lord of the Ring (which I absolutely adore by the way) and Training Day at the Cinema oh.. and the 13th Warrior. The cinema effects (sounds and all) for such films are out of this world. So, watch out SilverBird, someone's about to make you a second home!

Re: Silverbird Galleria in Lagos

I haven't been to the cinema in years. The last time was when my wife and I were still courting (I think). Unless we can get free of the kids, I am not certain when next I'll go see movies outside. And I don't fancy going alone or with friends.

But I saw SB Galleria while driving along the other day and was impressed with what I saw on the outside.

Yeah, I guess the lord of the rings is pretty cool.  I just borrowed the trilogy from a friend and I'm on part 2 (the two towers) disc 2, no thanks to NEPA.  All of the parts are 3 discs long.  Talking about visiting a cinema, my best near cinema experience was in 2002 during the african nations cup.  The arts theater in my school was used as cinema. we got a projector and that big white sheet stuff and kapish we were watching soccer. man it was fun and cool, hearing the oohs! and ahhs! and goooals! in the hall.  with the big screen and loud speakers.
