Re: Why I ditched MTN for Glo

Truth is, customers should learn to vote with their money! I have been griping about how Glo's "anywhere, anytime" GPRS service does not live up to that expectation. I hope they are listening.

If they do not sit up and mtel or anybody else comes up with a more reliable service, I will drop glo so fast you'd never think I ever knew them! That's what I did with MTN, and I'd do it again. Its my money afterall.

And their loss, really.

Re: Why I ditched MTN for Glo

About voting with my money: I kinda feel confused now after praising Glo so much on my blog, because truth is they're f***ing up badly here in Nsukka.  Maybe it's because they only just came (not up to two weeks now).  To flash or call you'll only be succesful on your 6th try.  Many a times you'll hear "your account can't be accessed, try again later".  If you try to send a text many a times too: "sending failed"!  Man, that is really pissing me off.  With my MTN texting, calling goes one time or at most on your 3rd try.  The main reason I went for Glo are the #500 cred and the 35 free text.  But with this ... man I wouldn't mind buying MTN cred for #450 and sending my #15 text jare. Sha maybe cos they only just came here.  I think things were far better with Glo in Abuja.

Re: Why I ditched MTN for Glo

I am not sure I can "ditch" my MTN line for a Glo line. Let's face it MTN is expensive and nothing comes free

but they have a wider coverage and better connectivity compared to Glo. My sister uses Glo and most of the

time I find it difficult getting her on phone, 'cos where she stays Glo's signal strength is very low.

I will like to be reached on my phone wherever I go.

Re: Why I ditched MTN for Glo

I guess that explains why 3.89 million Nigerians keep using MTN despite the 'complaints' they make on and of this forum.   They know what they're doing.  MTN is listening to the 'votes' people are making with their money and so far it's heavily in their favor!

Re: Why I ditched MTN for Glo

Shylock of a network. MTN has the best coverage no doubt but are so greedy that they soon forgort the advantage of this over other networks. If they could bring their tarif at least down to a competitive level with other networks, they will always be ahead while others will be trying to catch up. Just like in running a race, and the man ahead of you is continuously increasing the space between you and him while you are trying to catch, means that you are hopeless. So please MTN do not try to gain the whole world and loose your customers OKAY! Life is sweet is a matter of give and take and not take all, else you die alone.

Re: Why I ditched MTN for Glo

He-he-he! smile I was quoted in Trae_z's blog. Me getting famous! big_smile

But, jokes aside... Abuja seems to be a priority area for all the GSM networks. U think it is the same all over Naija? Think again bro!

I been around, and, people in other States can't get another number with just one dial. And the call quality is poor.

So what are you going to do now that Glo is, well, @#$! up too in Nsukka?

My verdict: U should have waited awhile before crucifying MTN!
Glo could be worse.
(But at least U got 35 free text that only works when U have credit and airtime! smile )

Apart from the four-letter words, I think your threatise is publishable. Needs some re-wording though smile Hola if U want more people to read it.

Re: Why I ditched MTN for Glo

Well, I ditched my MTN line quite a while ago (its still in service at the office because we use it for FlashMe Cash, Fax and SMS customer care) and adopted Glo as my personal line. No regrets yet, as it meets my needs more than any other network presently does.

I think it boils down to individual needs and issues. Glo aint no saint, as visitors to my site know from my comments on their service, but like I said, they meet my needs better than the others can at the moment.

I am not a brand loyalist and will as soon drop Glo as I did MTN. I vote with my money, and replacing SIMs is so cheap these days smile

yeah sims are so cheap, but changing numbers is not one of my loves. i'm already having a tough time juggling between MTN and GLO (letting people know about both numbers) as i only got one handset.

Re: Why I ditched MTN for Glo

I'm loyal to the Glo brand for these few reasons:
1. For beating down the price of SIM card.  I bought my Glo at the inception of Glo in Abuja when it was 10,000 naira.  Then MTN was about 25,000 naira and now, thanks to many like me that stick to Glo, both of them and even others now are below 1,000 naira

2. That glo is in my town. Men you need to see how I did behaved at home when I noticed but can you too glo with pride in your village ? if not talk to Uncle Sean he will help you out.

3. That my mum used it, and my dad used it (both in heaven now, so don't try call them).
4. That my angel uses MTN, and can reach me any time, and I can reach her any time I like, gloing with pride.

Re: Why I ditched MTN for Glo

The interesting thing is, I am certain that there are people out there who have ditched their Glo or Vmobile or Mtel line for another network too. Its just the way life is.

@trae: I understand the bit about letting people know you have 2 numbers. However, our circumstances differ.

I don't want most people to know my new number. Its strictly for family & close confidants. So, I had no problems with the switch smile Anyone I don't personally give my private line to and who gets it somehow and calls me on it is treated as an intruder mad!
