It amazes me the type of ringtones people use, monophonic or polyphonic. There is the ever popular Nokia ringtones, the 'crazy frog' ringtone and lots of musical downloads international and local. Some weird, funny, cool, crazy and what have you
Some ringtones are just lyrics like 'Helloooo, anybody there?', my friend's ringtone is simply- 'Talk to me' repeatedly.
I see myself reaching out for my phone anytime a Nokia phone rings, so I decided to spend a 100 Naira to get Janet Jackson's "Got Till its Gone" ringtone. At least when I hear one of the Nokia's ringtones, I know is not my phone ringing. ![]()
So everybody, let's know your ringtone is it Crazy, weird, cool, funny or whatever ![]()

I prefer to use MP3 as my ringtone since my phone supports that. All I have to do is convert my popular cd audio track to mp3, use another software to save about 30 to 60 seconds of the parts that I like best, then upload the music to my phone. I am sure no other phone rings like mine since the musical tracks I used are unique.
Sometimes I delay so long before I answer my calls because I enjoyed hearing the music flowing out of my handset that my friends often ask me why it takes me so long to answer my calls.

I currently use "Need Somebody" by Echoes of Sound. Its WAV and very clear and loud people are amazed it comes from a phone.
But I find myself switching between that and "Pick Up The Phone" and "1erGaou" every now and then.

Does anyone remember the name of this online service that allows you to create your own midi ringtones?

My colleague just downloaded some free software to convert audio cd music to midi this afternoon. Though I haven't tried out the software myself, visit these sites for a free download:

My cuz sent me 50 Cent's 'Candy Shop' via bluetooth and well.... it's my ringtone and it's just amazing how people jump whenever my phone rings, it's so loud it's unbelievable. My previous ringtone for ages was Lagbaja's 'Konko Below', I simply used to really ko mole (dig it to the ground) while my callers wait on me to answer my phone,... well, save for d selected few. For some reason, it's not as loud on my k700i as it was on the Sagem, if you can help on this, I'll be very grateful for your suggestion(s).
Ciao.

Does anyone have the crazy frog ring tone? A colleague of mine just downloaded it and it's absolutely driving me up the wall, it is. Flinging her phone downstairs today was really tempting but maturity got the better of me... just kidding but that ring tone is really...... weird.

guess we are in same shoes of phone and monotonic tones.
but the nokia phone is too popular such that when a phone rings you could always know it is nokia!
(not that i am not proud of ma phone, i love it)
I rarely, rarely use the monotonic tones its got. I got to compose some cool tones like the ol' skull "Do-4-luv" and a couple of others.
The next phone i will buy, you bet would be a polyphonic one!

Yeah, I skipped that i use the ring tones for my message alert cos i dont like the regular "standard", "special" or "ascending" alerts. Thats one thing bout 1100 compared to the 3310.
