who supplies vmobile/mtel/mtn/etc their VAS and Billing kits?

I would like to know who supply the Nigerian GSM operators their VAS and prepaid billing infrastructures.

I mean which vendor supplies their SMSC, Prepaid Billing Systems, IN platform.... this information is never available on their website.  Does anyone know?

I am also wondering what is the most popular Operating System these carriers use to run their Enterprise Applications.... Is it Linux or Unix?  This is just one of my idle curiousities.

By the way, the sense of humour of some of the contributors on this site intoxicates me.
Some people here are just too funny!

Airborn Wired and Wireless is a subsidiary of MTN South Africa, and is definitely responsible for:
» MTN's 'Mercury' platform for deployment value added services (SMS, R-IVR).

Can you tell us why you're interested in this information?

Seun, thanks for the info.
I was just curious ...because I used have very close dealings with one SMSC manufacturer (basically a systems integrator/software house) sometimes ago....and I am wondering if they have any penetration amongst mtn/vmobile/mtel/glo/etc... so I can start seeing way of getting some work with them.  You know...just watching out for myself...  Sorry to use your forum so clandestinely  smile
