Fellow Nigerians, as the first person to land here, I hereby declare myself the "Obasanjo" of this Proudly Nigerian zone. As President and Commander-in-Chief, I now declare this thread open.
All of you should therefore introduce yourself and your favourite food. Mine is already well-known: Amala and Ewedu soup. Plus Goat meat. With a dash of fresh fish on the side. ![]()
At this juncture, let me pause and see who will be the "Atiku" of this zone.... Atiku, WHERE ARE U? ![]()
Offline
God forbid that I be an Atiku
(and I don't mean anything by that). I am who I am. So, what do we discuss here now?
@coola: Abi make I change my username to AYA here too? ![]()
OK, my favourite food? Pounded yam?!
I love to dress casual, play around with mobile gadets, watch good movies and spend time with my family and with the Lord (not necessarily in that order) ![]()

My name is Seun Osewa, not quite yet 23. I love the Internet. I have always loved programming, but I don't really code anymore... perhaps because I need to create the right working environment first. I'm a 'net-entrepreneur' but for some funny reasons I don't host websites or sell domain names.
I spend 25 hours a day (
) on the Internet. My phone number is +2348052137062, but it's usually inactive. My phone is a Samsung SGH-R220, which is incapable of GPRS browsing and of course plays only monotonic ringtones. Need I mention that I can't view color pictures or connect it to my PC?
My greatest frustration with Glo is that they expect me to use 500 naira every 5 days even though I can't browse on my phone, so I might soon be getting a line from Vmobile or MTEL!

Traez is now "Honourable Masari"....our #4
LuckyJulius? Looks like U ran out of luck.... but I will consider ur case....U can choose between... Chris Uba
and Ibrahim Mantu
!
Remember Guys... the first lady that turns up here is automatically the FIRST lady o!
On to something more serious... can someone give me an example of a Nigerian website that is ACTUALLY MAKING MONEY? I have been pondering on the issue....
Offline
thanks man. i'll do my best for the forum title or no tltle. really i have thought about that question. well i guess most nigerian sites which make money do so mainly from sponsorship and not from what they sell online. www.kickoffnigeria.com, is an example i think...whatever. i know i ain't making money yet from my site, only friends and praises. still it's better than nothing.

Talk about the Genius
. . here I am. I never see an impossibility, all I see is solution to problems, and the formula.. only the Author of my intuition can tell how He wired it. I am very comfortable with the computer, an attribute that warms me into the heart of my current employer.
Food? Aah, :p my wife calls me up each day and says 'honey, what would U have for dinner, 'cos I know U are "Ijewuru"', that's someone who likes food. She knows when I eat her yam and fried egg, I become happy, or semo with ugu soup, I feel like jumping, or bread with porridge beans, I feel more relaxed. But one thing amazes me, I'm "lepa", U know what I mean, slim. Somebody help me, I want to pack some pound.![]()
I wonder if I'm alone in my world..I think it's high time we found a solution to MTN's craze for scooping Nigerians' hard earned money. They're thinking of charging their subscribers for flashing (the only thing that keeps their subscribers connected when they're low on credit) can U imagine the absurdity?
Users should move to MTel or Vmobile in protest, afterall what do they have better than these, except charges, charges and charges ![]()

Welcome, GeniusBami, I hope you keep being this interesting and post a lot!
I think we really, really need someone who loves MTN and can defend them against our criticisms o! This MTN bashing is too one-sided! They do have 3.89 million customers for a reason, I am sure. Anybody willing to take the pro-MTN stance?

Welcome Gbemi,
From the way U rap, I may appoint u our resident JerryGana! ![]()
And where did u hear about MTN charging for flashing?
Hey, Patricia....technically u are Stella Obasanjo.... what d'ya think? ![]()

I dare any pro-MTN to come on board, his would be more than a pick-pocket caught in broad-day light at mile 2. U see, I've come to realise our problems in Nigeria, (I haven't travelled to other parts of Africa to know how they do
) we are too gullible, just tell us a lie, and persuade us to believe it, there we go, devouring it hook, line, sinker, paddle, boat and fisherman.
I mean, a little pressure, and we follow, follow-follow people. Otherwise, when someone spends about 8 hours telling U "no one covers Nigeria better than ???", why don't we ask "am I Ajala travels, who would need services at locations all over the country?" Apart from this hype, I don't see MTN as worthy of the try. Seun, I'm waiting for a challenger.. ![]()

Well, I just got an MTEL line today and I am underwhelmed. It fails to fulfil the promise of cheaper prices for business calls (it costs the same to call an MTN line from an MTEL line as it costs from an MTN line).
we really need to have a forum titled 'share your experiences/stories'

Well Well, though I came late, but i think am the Otunba Gbenga Daniel of this forum, well am Ismail from Ilaro in Ogun State. Somebody should congratulate me joooo.

My real name is Yomi Adegboye. I am happily married to my best friend Moji and we have two kids, a boy and a girl (that's where we stop!).
I have used over 22 different mobile phones and smartphones since GSM was launched in Nigeria (and I am not crazy). I am based in Lagos where I preside over Nigeria's number 2 webhosting company DomainStandard Networks. I am also editor of GoSmartMobile.com, a great site for getting all the information you need about mobile phones, technology and services available in Nigeria
.
I am an ordained minister of the Gospel and also pastor a growing and vibrant church; but fear not, I won't bash you over the head with a Bible
I am a graduate of Architecture and Design from the University of Lagos.
I spend most of my day online via my mobile devices and for that reason transact almost all my business operations from wherever I happen to be at the moment.
I love spending time with God, my wife and family, people and my toys (mobile gadgets), and I do love to watch good movies.
@coolapostle: I believe I gave you a couple examples of Nigerian websites that make not just money, but very good money back on esato. More Nigerian websites will make money if the owners change how they approach business. my (informed) opinion.

Well, I might have landed late but I am by no means the least. Whoever said the ladies are shy? Think again buddy cos this lady here is taking over. Well seeing as coolapostle don carry first lady dash Patricia, who I go be now, Kema Chikwe? Well, whoever is fashionable, intellectually stimulating, reassuringly confident and positively optimistic in Naija leadership right now, I wish, that's who I am.
I'm a practising lawyer, have a very healthy passion for my profession too. I love meeting people and talking about stuff, hence, I am here at 1am, e gba mi. I'm 28 and a Libran, the very best.... I know.
We started off talking about fav food, seeing as I hail from the popular city aka Ibadan, amala with ewedu and gbegiri will be my best dish of all times. I really miss Inasrate christened Nasty by my cool UI cohort. I'm afraid my knowledge re network or mobile phones in Naija might be somewhat limited for obvious reasons but on every other topic, count me in...... I'm a proud Shagamite by the way and of cos was privileged enough to finish from the very first and undoubtedly the best Uni in Naija..... you still dey ask..... UI of course.
Seun, I'm ever so impressed by you, trust me. As for being the most handsome guy.... well, you are entitled to your opinion... just kidding, you're alright. But you really do strike me as an exceptionally intelligent man. Keep It Up!!
