What is happening with Oduatel?

Until sometime last week when i read in the dailies that Oduatel has just sacked 30,000 workers, i didn't know that a telecoms company like that existed. Who are they? What services do they provide and what is their coverage.

30,000 workers.  Oti o.  Where did they get 30,000 workers?

They sacked 80 staff members.  They had 510 members of staff at that time.

Re: What is happening with Oduatel?

The Oduatel (Odua Telecoms) website is available at:
http://www.oduatel.net/odua/home.htm

Their cute ad, which indicates that they are "licensed to provide telecommunications services using Fixed Wireless Acccess in South West Nigeria" also promises "Internet Access / Data Transfer",  "Video Conferencing", "Voice Telephony", "Virtual Private Networks".

Their network covers Oyo, Ekiti, Osun, Ogun and Ondo states.  To do business with them, you might need to go through their dealers.  Lists of dealers by state are available at the following urls:
http://www.oduatel.net/odua/oyo dealers.htm
http://www.oduatel.net/odua/ogun dealer.htm
http://www.oduatel.net/odua/osun dealers.htm
http://www.oduatel.net/odua/ondo dealer.htm
http://www.oduatel.net/odua/ekiti dealers.htm

Hope this helps.

Re: What is happening with Oduatel?

Oduatel is a company meant to provide Internet services and fixed wireless services in the Odua states - Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti. They have already rolled out but the company has not got its act together yet.

They already operate in Abeoukta, Osogbo, Akure, Ado Ekiti and Ibadan. Their technology is not what is obtainable in the industry and their Internet services is not meant for a business (in terms of its reliability). So much but the company has a very very long way to go.

Seun, you forgot to mention that their website is 'unique' smile
Sorry, I just couldn't help it.
Perhaps you could offer your services to them for free.
