Well to say the truth mine is not bad at all
. We experience near contant power supply, maybe because it is a new area and NEPA does not Know we exist yet. I heard the entire country was thrown into blackout yesterday due to system collaspe at NEPA( didn't experience it) but I feel for guys who did
Men the weather is HoooooT. Can't imagine sleeping under that weather condition without any form of air conditioning.
So what is power supply like in your area? Do tell!

It has gotten bad in the past three 3weeks where I live. Most evenings in Karu, Abuja, the light comes around 10 pm and vanishes while we sleep. I got someone's wedding cake in me fridge and I am really worried about it.
Where I work in Area 11, Garki is something else. We spend the whole day without light. Businesses in this area are suffering. Gen, gen gen everywhere ![]()

Power supply in Festac Town is nothing to write home about, when it even comes, it dissapears before u say jack robinson, nearly everyone here owns a gen set, as if gen sellers bribed NEPA so they can sell.

@pat: But they did say that 2 or 3 years ago; didn't they. Yet, look where we are today. I refuse to listen to their empty propaganda. When it happens I will accept it.
I hate running generating sets
The stress is something I cannot live with.

NEPA in my area is very very constant except if there is a very dire need for the to take it off we are very lucky in my area we don't even need a gas cooker or stove.

Our dearest 'baba Iyabo' has already said that there can be no constant electricity without new power generation plants. Demand outstrips supply and that's just that! However, I wish the rotation system could follow a regular timetable. Let it be possible for a businessman to know that "ok, between 8am and 2pm every day, there would be electricity". You know what I mean? Inability to plan results in inability to succeed.

Nepa supply? Well i guess, it is not new to say Nepa means: Never Expect Power Always!!!!
Really, demand is greater than supply, but then the limited supply is not evenly distributed. I was priviledged to work with a consulting firm for NEPA and I discovered that it was the areas that generate so much funds (am talking of industries and firms paying a minimum of 1.5 million for power supply per month!) for them that they constantly supply power to.
Thank God for my Nokia 1100 with the flashlight! ![]()
I virutually use it to find ma way around when the owners of power have taken their property!

It is a big shame to this country that the level of the Kainji Dam determines how much electricity is being generated. I wonder what will happen in time of acute dry season. There are so many other ways to generate electricty, and I still wonder why the government has not deemed it fit to explore those ways.
Maybe when u vote me in as the minister of power (minus steel), u fellow Nigerian will breath a sign of relieve from NEPA. ![]()

Power supply has suddenly improved in my part of Festac Town this Easter, hope they keep it up.

Well, for years un-end, power supply in my area (Ring-Road in Ibadan) has been most commendable. It would appear that this is still the case because I spent most of my time there while on vacation last year. It got to a point some years ago where landlord association had to agree that Nepa should 'cut off' power supply for about 20 or 30 minutes a day as neighbouring areas were beginning to threaten serious bodily harm!!! On a very serious note, the longest lights out in my area is usually 30 minutes and not everyday too. I spent some time at my cousin's at Eleyele....blah... and oh boy! not only was the supply epileptic but when they deemed fit to 'bring light' well.... let's just say it was better to light your candles and pretend it's a romantic dinner. The rest of the time I was in Adeniyi Jones with my sister’s family and ..erm… power supply there would be a strange occurrence at best! How one sleeps with the blares and bleats of generating sets eludes me. It's a shame really. To think Ghana, Cameroon and supposedly less advanced neighbouring countries manage this insurmountable task!!! Giants of Africa indeed! I hope we all know it's nothing but the fruits of sabotage as we regrettably have in every other sphere of government. Bola Ige said as much before he was unceremoniously 'taken care of'. Indeed, in God we trust, otherwise, there really seems to be no hope. For those who know how to pray, bended knees are the only way forward for Nigeria.

Until we privatize NEPA, nothing for US.....go get ready your money to buy chairs(oops!! I mean shares)
My Area, Garki II is under attack from NEPA and its top officers, But we'll survive it, In-sha-Allah

Hey guys just made a new discovery and have decided to share. Do you know what Nepa's motto or "mission statement" is? Providing Power for National Growth! Explains why we are where we are, don't you think?
, They are not performing.

What a nice discovery! Little wonder.

things are changing o! since Id-El-Malud power has been like as if the celebration is going to last forever. Not like we have it all 24 hrs but it has just improved. I get back home from work and meet power, it goes off and after a few hours its back. At least I get to save my phone's flashlight.
